It was absolutely great and stunningly beautiful hotel and we had a very positive stay. Unobtrusive and courteous staff who were always there to help👌
Facilities were excellent, nonetheless internet connection was weak.

Came in Dumfries to relax and have fun, this pet-friendly hotel was ideal place for doing it. Our food for bagged breakfast was savoury and all the staff were polite and accommodating...

Beautiful, quiet rural type setting. Just minutes from Dumfries centre. Very friendly staff. Lots of local information available.
I thought it was very poor that my daughter was told by reception it would not be possible to have an extra blanket upon her request for one in the early evening. Perhaps we just happened on an unwilling member of staff. (If so, she was the only one we came across during our stay.) We did not pursue the matter as a friend in an adjacent room lent her a cover from there.

There's nothing too much trouble, had a very pleasant stay with short taxi ride into center of town. I had an airy and bright room with good bed, excellent shower, for example. The location was amazing in the very pleasant area.

hotel was real nice - and rooms and food in restaurant were excellent - only one thing - took a walk in the gardens adjacent to hotel - and noticed the refuse bin area to the rear of the restaurant area was strewn with litter - didnt leave the right impression!!!!!

Friendliness of the restraunt staff. Open outlook of our particular room at the back of the hotel. The heated bathroom mirror is an excellent idea.
The modern extension to a beautiful old building. It did not fit in with the old building or the surrounding area. Breakfast was not appetising, Too long under heated lamps and looked and tasted dried up.Hairs in the bath a bit of a put off.

Comfortable Stay with Friendly Service
And the breakfast choices were delicious. We enjoyed a peaceful night in our Standard Room. A nearby restaurant for dinner was limited, so consider bringing in takeout for variety!

the staff, the food, the surroundings
we were put in an adjoining room with no sound proofing or security between rooms - we were kept awake till after 3am with the people in the next room - not a comfortable or relaxing overnight experience

Clean & modern room; quiet location. Nice breakfast.
Dined on 2nd night (a Sunday) & service proved poor with food not impressive enough to make up for that. Room heater fused on first night when put on by my wife who got small electric shock/FRIGHT!

Request a room away from the dining area if large groups are present for a quieter stay.

Staff were friendly - standard of dining / breakfast was good. Rooms comfortable and a good size. Setting was like a country house hotel - parkland with gardens and a church - good for relaxing. Only 20 minutes walk from Dumfires centre.
Not having a separate dining room and bar meant that when bar was busy it could be difficult to have a conversation in dining area.

Excellent front desk. The restaurant had very good food. We ate there for dinner and also the included breakfast the next morning and had excellent service and delicious food both times. The room had a nice view and was spacious. There was no bath tub, but the shower was better than average. We thought it was excellent for the rate.
Missed the bath tub.
